A Christmas Story, The Musical is based upon a cherished movie classic that’s enchanted millions. Set in 1940s Indiana, a bespectacled boy named Ralphie has a big imagination and one wish for Christmas a Red Ryder BB Gun. A kooky leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a cranky department store Santa, and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the obstacles that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas dream. Co-produced by the film’s original Ralphie, Peter Billingsley, A Christmas Story, The Musical is holiday entertainment that captures a simpler time in America with delicious wit and a heart of gold.

A wonderful addition to my Broadway shelf Can’t talk about the show; haven’t seen it, but I sure want to, now that I’ve heard this heartwarming, clever, melodic, intelligent score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Before this show, I’d never heard of these two writers, but on the strength of this score, I think we’ll be hearing a lot of them in the decades to come. I hope so, because their infectious score (as catchy as pinkeye)is one of the best I’ve heard this century.

There are times, even as I listen to it, that I have to draw up memories of seeing the Show to remember…

This is a truly great American musical. It should be an American Institution. The composers Pasik and Paul have given us a truly terrific and unforgettable musical. They have taken us back to the wonderful world of the great American Broadway Musical. It is truly an original score, with songs you can hum and just fall in love with. Pasik and Paul like fellow composers Sklar and Beguelin are on their way to becoming our next great composers for the American Broadway Musical. My favourite song is sun by Liz Callaway “Just Like That” . This musical not only…
