My “Desert Island” Christmas Album If you love Christmas Music and agree that Bing Crosby was the GOLD STANDARD vocalist for this format,then get this album! EVERYTHING on this album is GREAT; the arrangements,musicians,the sound quality,the background vocalists,and of course Bing himself are OUTSTANDING! The “Lost” Crosby Christmas album Re-discovered and re-released by Polydor in 1994, Bing was in his late 60s when this was originally released on Daybreak Records in 1971 under the title “A Time To Be Jolly”. The tracks contain vintage ’70s MOR musical arrangements which gives this album a more ‘mod’ type of sound. Unfortunately, most of the tracks kick off with some slightly silly choral introductions which tend to become tedious after a while.
