Not What You Think It Is! This is not the original Snowfall album which is no longer available except as a CD or LP at exorbitant prices. The original was perfect, great songs, orchestrations, Bennet at his best! This one is a recent compilation which includes extraneous cliches like the medeley of lackluster Christmas carols . . . and it does not contain the remarkable “Where is Love” of the original release. S-N-O-W-F-A-L-L and Tony Bennett…Perfect together! This is a beautiful CD with the gifted voice of Tony Bennett. Even Frank Sinatra praised him as being one of the best singers on earth!!! I purchased it for one song: ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and found the entire CD to be beautiful. I’ve been a fan of Tony Bennett for years, so I knew that I would not be disappointed.

Four and a half stars, honestly, given the less-than-perfect remastering I’ve loved this recording ever since I first heard the original on vinyl. Bennett evokes just the right combination of happiness and wistfulness that really is Christmas in the dead of winter. Besides, his musicianship is beyond question; he treats each of these songs, all but one recorded in 1968, with the same care he treats all other songs. He’s also in very good voice here. My sole objection is the inclusion of the far more recent, upbeat version of I’ll Be Home For Christmas. I know…
